Sarge 37: Radicofani to Acquapendente. Leaving Tuscany.

More downhill to the Torrente Rigo valley, now mostly flat, through meadows, trees lining the river coming into bloom and full of birdsong.
Then to the pilgrim oasis at Ponte a Rigo, at the site of a tragic WWII bombing, (the red van's a bar),

and left for a busy stretch of tarmac, then a meadow path alongside the road,
crossing it back and forth, then along a short busy stretch before Centeno, (the first town in Lazio) lunch at Trattoria La Dogana (looks closed but definitely worth a visit.) and then my lift turned up for the next base in Montefiascone.

My dear friends and fellow Wrinklies, Rob and Kate, arrived from Milan to spend a few days on the Via; it will be lovely to have their company.  I'm sad to leave Tuscany, it is magical, but every stage takes me nearer to my goal.
